Review:Pray They Were Not Captured Alive

2007-05-12 00:00:00

The news this morning reminded myself of a promise that I made to my wife, that many other combat soldiers with families made to their loved ones:

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) – American troops were on the hunt in a volatile region south of Baghdad for three members of a U.S.-led military patrol, who went missing after an insurgent attack Saturday that killed five others.

Review:Immigration “Reform” Needs Sunshine not Darkness

2007-05-12 00:00:00

I can not think of anything worse tan Lindsey Graham, Ted Kennedy and the Administration conspiring in a dark room:

Politicians at opposite ends of the debate collaborating in secret to devise a new comprehensive plan.

According to CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson, the group, which includes Democratic Sen. Ted Kennedy and Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, has met for hours several times a week since March — with Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff acting as point man for the White House.

Review:Cells in Germany? Forget That, Try New York!!

2007-05-12 00:00:00

Michael Savage talked about this on Friday:

Radical Muslim paramilitary compound flourishes in upper New York state

Forget about “they will follow us over here” because they are already over here!

Review:Farmers Branch Voting

2007-05-12 00:00:00

Amazing what happens when you let the People vote:

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas — Residents cast ballots Saturday on whether to repeal or approve a ban on landlords renting apartments to most illegal immigrants in their Dallas suburb, the nation’s first municipality to put the matter to a vote.

The ban was being approved by a 3-to-1 margin as early votes were counted.

Review:The Coronation of a Candidate

2007-05-11 00:00:00

After New Jersey finally becomes a state in which the presidential primary actually means something and we have a say in choosing our candidate, the GOP establishment is looking to take that right away andcoronate a candidate before even ONE vote is actually cast.

That’s right, after fighting side by side to make our votes mean something in choosing our president early in the primary season, the GOP establishment elite swooped in and a group of 10 people is looking to make our vote meaningless and our voices silent, again.

In past presidential election cycles, candidates were awarded delegates based on their performance in the various congressional districts, of course by that time in the primary season, it was more of acknowledging the winner who had the nomination locked up 2 months earlier.

But now, two GOP bosses are proposing a rule change, whereby its WINNER TAKES ALL .. The winner of the overall voting will now receive ALL the delegates. That sounds like “special rights” to me and certainly not equal rights.

The rule change was proposed by 2 Rudy Giuliani supporters and passed 10-3. It now goes to the Republican State Committee where 2/3rd’s of the 42 members must rule in favor of it’s passing.

Anyone who beliefs in democracy should be against this proposed rule change; a candidate can lose 5 or 6 of the 13 congressional districts and still receive every single delegate available. This rule change even has a chance of back firing on even its own supporters. Let’s say Fred Thompson enters the race, and support for other candidates goes to him, and after primary day is over Rudy comes in second in 8 of the districts but wins 5 districts; his total delegates for the National Convention is now ZERO.

Review:Gold or Platinum Benefits?

2007-05-11 00:00:00

And Gov. Granholm (D) can not find places to cut the budget:

A loophole in Michigan’s school retirement policy allows the 60-year-old grandmother from Remus and hundreds of former school employees like her to earn lifetime health care at deeply discounted rates – a perk worth an estimated $150,000 per retiree – for returning to work for the equivalent of 13 days.

Review:Giuliani,Giuliani,Giuliani

2007-05-11 00:00:00

Pat Buchanan succinctly describes the end result of Giuliani’s “coming out” on abortion:

If true, it marks either the beginning of the end of the Giuliani campaign – or the beginning of the end of the Party of Ronald Reagan.

Dick Morris comments on how the Ft Dix plot may benefit Rudy:

But after Fort Dix, the momentum is once again going to shift. Americans realize the narrow escape they have had and understand the importance of having a proven and tested anti-terror leader, as their candidate in the November, 2008 elections.

Considering that the plot had been “aborted” because a clerk was willing to take action, with possible retribution from CAIR, I wonder if this will really come into play. As I look at the plot I am simply reminded that this was a result of a failed immigration policy and border security.

Review:Gutless GOP Whiners

2007-05-11 00:00:00

Eleven gutless whiners:

First, and most painfully, a Republican group of House moderates tried - some would say finally - to give the president what they believe is the unvarnished political truth: The war in Iraq is threatening the future of the Republican Party.

News reports said the meeting, held in the president’s private quarters in the White House, was as blunt as any held among Bush, his top advisers and members of his own party. The message was that, if there is no improvement in the situation in Iraq by the end of the year and no change of tone by the White House, the party will suffer even more than it did in the 2006 elections, when it lost control of both houses of Congress.

First, they complain to the President then they run to Tim Russert.

When they have a chance to vote on the record what do they do? They are not concerned about the troops at all. They are solely concerned about the trappings of their job.

Give me Ron Paul of Texas any day.

Review:80 Republican Hypocrite Pigs, How Many Days Were They Against Pork?

2007-05-11 00:00:00

Do you remember all the Pious Republicans complaining about the pork that was included in the now vetoed Iraq spending bill?

Well, this morning they voted on the pork as a stand alone Bill and boy did it pass. 302 to 120. Well enough to withstand a veto, if anyone ever thought it would be vetoed.

And 80 Republicans lied up with their snouts in the trough.

They called it “H.R.2207, Agricultural Disaster Assistance and Western States Emergency Unfinished Business Appropriations Act, 2007″ but to me it is simply a pig in dress with lip stick.

Review:They Are Muslim First

2007-05-11 00:00:00

The other day, there was some lobbying in Congress:

WASHINGTON - Worried Congress’ support for Iraq is deteriorating rapidly, Baghdad dispatched senior officials to Capitol Hill this week to warn members one-on-one that pulling out U.S. troops would have disastrous consequences.

Last year, a very experienced individual with SW Asia discussed “al-Taqiyya” with myself and that is what instantly came to my mind.
